Learn how to make a classic Blinker cocktail.

Ingredients

  • 1 oz Grapefruit Juice

  • 1/3 oz Grenadine

  • 2 oz Rye Whiskey

Directions

  • Technique: Saxe Soda Shake
  • Combine all ingredients into a cocktail shaker.
  • Add one medium or two small ice cubes to the cocktail shaker and shake until the ice fully melts.
  • Without a strainer, pour the chilled and aerated drink into a glass.

First popping up in the 1930s, this little whiskey cocktail is refreshing. A popular substitute for grenadine in this cocktail is regular old raspberry syrup, as you would find in the pancake section of a grocery store. If you don’t have raspberry syrup, you can use grenadine, but that’s up to you.
