Juan Collins – Trader Vic’s 1972 Tequila Collins

The tequila variation of a Collins style cocktail. It is basically an alcoholic lemonade. The Collins family of cocktails date back to them mid 1800s with the John Collins which was Genever (dutch style gin), lemon juice, simple syrup and soda water. The earliest reference I can find of this, is in Trader Vic’s 1972 revised bartending guide and in that book it is called the Tequila Collins.
