This isn’t a classic cocktail it’s just a really good cocktail. By reducing the amount of the very strong Midori, then balancing it with the floral elderflower, I think it makes for a more realistic melon flavored cocktail than straight Midori makes. It’s much less one dimensional and more appealing. I also really like the creaminess the egg white adds. Actually this one taste very similar to these Korean melon milk drinks I like to get from the Korean market or Korean carry-out.
Improved Midori Sour No.2 ingredients:
- 60 mls (2 oz) Vodka
- 20 mls (2/3 oz) Lemon Juice
- 15 mls (1/2 oz) Elderflower Liqueur
- 15 mls (1/2 oz) Midori
- 15 mls (1/2 oz) Egg White
Combine all ingredients in the shaker. Shake dry for 30 second – egg foams better when not cold. Now add ice to the shaker. Vigorously shake again till the shaker is ice cold and frosted. Strain into glass to remove ice shards
ABV = 24%
