This recipe come from Robert Vermeire and his 1922 book Cocktails and How to Mix Them. Written while he worked at the New York Embassy Club in London, this cocktail is named after the commedia dell’arte character Pulcinella. (Polichinelle is the French spelling of Pulcinella) This cocktail is pretty sweet but it also has a decent amount to alcohol in it. If you like porto then this is right up you alley.
